Another week has flown by & it is once again time for another installment of A.P.R.A. Radio. Friday’s show will be done in two parts. We will continue our series on demonology with “possession” as our focus & we will discuss the topic of our investigation as we will be live on location at the Green Hotel in Kern County. The Green Hotel was built in 1913 by the Kern County Land Company to house prospective buyers. It is one of the few remaining buildings which represent the era of the Kern County Land Company & is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We will spend two nights investigating this historic hotel in the hopes of determining whether or not there may be paranormal activity there. During the second half of our show, Alfredo Lopez & I will once again delve into the dark world of the demonic as we explore the warning signs of demonic possession. We will discuss the similarities between some of the symptoms of possession & those of mental illness and how to determine whether an exorcism is needed or if therapy & medication would be more appropriate. June 5th 2009 - The Queen Mary

This week on APRA radio we will be speaking about the magnificent RMS Queen Mary's great history as well as the unexplainable phenomena taking place on the ship. We will also be playing a good amount of EVP's collected by APRA on the RMS Queen Mary ! RMS Queen Mary is a retired ocean liner that sailed the North Atlantic Ocean from 1936 to 1967 for the Cunard Line (then Cunard White Star Line). Built by John Brown and Company, Clydebank, Scotland, she was designed to be the first of Cunard's planned two-ship weekly express service from Southampton to Cherbourg to New York, in answer to the mainland European superliners of the late 1920s and early 1930s. After their release from World War II troop transport duties, Queen Mary and her running mate RMS Queen Elizabeth commenced this two-ship service and continued it for two decades until Queen Mary's retirement in 1967. The ship is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is permanently berthed in Long Beach, California serving as a museum ship and hotel. The Queen Mary celebrated the 70th anniversary of her launch in both Clydebank and in Long Beach during 2004, and the 70th anniversary of her maiden voyage in 2006.

The Paranormal field has vastly grown since what I like to call “Paranormal Hollywood” has taken over. Since the paranormal field has hit the mainstream hundreds/thousands of “paranormal research teams” have sprouted up all over the world, this can be a good and bad thing for this field. Most teams have based their investigation techniques and methods from what they have witnessed on television, this is a very inaccurate way to research and investigate ghost’s & haunting’s. T.V can make paranormal investigation seem glamorous at times by chopping and editing there way through investigations without providing the actual facts. It’s interesting to me that every case, every location has supposed documented activity when in actuality 90% of cases can be dismissed due to completely normal occurrences that take place on a daily bases. When it comes to evidence collection and reveal, why is it that every single piece of evidence collected by “Paranormal Hollywood” is PARANORMAL EVIDENCE and no one questions it or think’s otherwise? We here at A.P.R.A. believe that all evidence collected that is unexplainable should be tested by professionals from various industries including Scientist’s, Engineers, Medical Doctors, Video & audio analysis professionals. All evidence collected by A.P.R.A. is tested by a panel of professional’s from these industries and available for the public’s view on www.apraparanormal.com. One thing I have noticed since the birth of various groups in the field is that some out there are extremely competitive and will not share evidence or information collected during their research and investigations. This throws up a red flag to me, if a group is not willing to share information or allow others to be involved in investigations something is fishy. This field absolutely needs EVERYONE to share information to help provide possible patterns and details to various phenomena worldwide, if we all work together we can possibly make sense of what is taking place.

May 8th 2009 - Classification: Apparitions and Hauntings

I hear and see a lot of Paranormal Media claiming to be experts in the paranormal field. This is completely out of the question being that we are involved with a field that absolutely no one knows exactly what they are dealing with. As it stands today we are pretty much empty handed with a whole lot of contradicting theory’s that really hasn’t entirely helped this field. But when it comes to true paranormal researchers that have dedicated their life’s to trying to find the answers to a field that to this point really has no answers as to what they are actually dealing with. Such researchers as John Zaffis, Hazel M. Denning Ph. D., Emily Peach, Dr. Hans Holzer, Dr Barry Taff and many more have provided great factual information gathered through years of research and investigation of a possible existence of a life after death. Various patters and multiple cases dealing with the same phenomena have provided an insight into a filed that human understanding can’t quite grasp….. as of yet.

On this episode of A.P.R.A. Radio Sylvia Ray (Host) and Myself (Brandon Alvis Producer) will try and make as much sense of the separate Classes of Ghost’s and hauntings as humanly possible. We here at A.P.R.A. take every single view and approach to the paranormal field into account ; our personal view of the field is taken from a scientific approach to paranormal investigation, but this does not mean we will not listen to and measure different views. We believe that you can always learn something new from different approaches, views and theories, everyone has something to offer.

Definitions: Any serious dialogue on the subject of “Ghosts” must of necessity begin with a series of definitions, first to define the limits within which the dialogue will take place, and second to establish a vocabulary to enable it to take place properly. Fortunately, careful and prolonged observation and investigation according to scientific principles has proved that “Ghostly” phenomena of any and every kind can be categorized according to the behavior of the manifestation and the circumstances surrounding it.

Apparitions are what might be called visual ghosts – ghosts that are actually seen, as opposed to those which are merely heard, touched, or sensed. Apparitions may be divided into five basic categories or types which serve to define, quite precisely and according to possible cause and/or behavioral characteristics, exactly what kind of apparition is involved.

These categories are:

1.) Apparitions of the living

2.) Experimental Cases

3.) Crisis Apparitions

4.) Apparitions of the dead, or post-mortem apparitions

5.) “Ghosts”, or apparitions which habitually haunt certain places

1.) Apparitions of the living: Apparitions of the living are exactly what they sound like – the apparitions of living people. About one third of all reported cases fall into this category. Living people who “appear” as an apparition to another or others may at the time of their “appearance” be either sleeping or waking, but their physical body will always be far from the place where their apparition is seen at the corresponding time. Often there is some evidence of physical debility and/or a state of altered consciousness on the part of the agent at the time of appearance, and frequently an emotional link of some kind exists between agent and percipient.

2.) Experimental Cases: Similar apparitions to those defined as apparitions of the living may occur when a particular individual deliberately attempts to make his or her presence perceptible to another person or persons in a distant place. Thus the only real difference between apparitions of the living and those which are the result of experiment is that the former are spontaneous while the latter are not.

3.) Crisis Apparitions: Crisis apparitions constitute the largest class of veridical experience. They may be caused by persons either living or dead, and must be seen, heard, felt, but most importantly recognized, by one or more persons, either individually or collectively, when the agent is undergoing a crisis if they are to qualify for this category . Once again, of course, the physical body of the agent, whether it be quick or dead, is distant from the place where the apparition is seen, and crisis apparitions usually present an appearance of absolute solidity and reality. Once again, too, there is usually some emotional tie between agent and percipient.

Crisis apparitions may be termed veridical only where:

· They represent a person know

· They suddenly and unexpectedly appear and then suddenly and inexplicably vanish.

· It is afterwards proved that the agent died or underwent any other crisis at or about the time seen, or 12 hours before or 12 hours after the time seen.

4.) Apparitions of the Dead: This title might appear to speak for itself and to be quite straightforward, but in fact it is not, because there is often some difficulty in differentiating between crisis apparitions and apparitions of the dead. This confusion arises because for some crisis apparitions the crisis is death, and where this is the case, some appear a little before death, some coincident with it, and yet others a little while after it.

A post-mortem apparition is considered veridical if:

· The percipient did not know that the agent had died

· The percipient, not knowing the agent at all, was thereafter able to identify from a photograph or by some other means and, most importantly, the agent was previously associated with the spot where the apparition was seen

· The apparition conveys information once known to the agent in life, but previously unknown to the percipient

· The apparition manifests some characteristic, purpose, or attribute appropriate to the agent in life but unknown to, and definitely not characteristic of, the percipient

5.) Haunting Apparitions: A haunting apparition, or ghost, is a figure or figures

(Human or animal) which are seen in the same place on a series of different

occasions by one or more people alone or collectively.

It may be termed veridical if:

· The percipient, not knowing the apparition at all, is thereafter able to identify it from a photograph or by some other means, and if the person represented by the apparition was previously associated with the spot where the apparition was seen

· The apparition conveys information once known to it in life, but previously unknown to the percipient
